Home victories over UCLA and No. 23 USC helped the Arizona Wildcats move up in Monday's updated top 25 rankings -- and more importantly, pull into a first-place tie in the Pac-12.
Coach Sean Miller's team will look to keep that momentum going Wednesday when it welcomes Bobby Hurley and the rival Arizona State Sun Devils to Tucson.
UA (21-5, 9-4 Pac-12) moved up to No. 12 in this week's AP poll, up five spots from last week. The Wildcats are tied with Oregon for first place in the conference with five regular-season games to go.
ASU (14-12, 4-9) beat visiting USC on Friday before falling to UCLA on Sunday.
In their first meeting of the season, the Wildcats beat the Sun Devils in a game that got testy toward the end. Hurley, who's in his first year as ASU head coach, was ejected late in the game, which UA won 94-82 in Tempe.
Hurley made a trip to UA's McKale Center as a point guard for the Duke Blue Devils in 1991. The Wildcats won that game in double overtime. Wednesday will mark Hurley's first trip to McKale as a head coach.
The Wildcats have won five straight games against ASU in Tucson, including 73-49 in last year's meeting at McKale Center.
