The Cactus League, Major League Baseball’s Arizona spring training league, hired its first-ever executive director, the organization announced Wednesday.
Peoria City Councilwoman Bridget Binsbacher will take over the newly created role.
As executive director, she will be responsible for executing strategic initiatives, maintaining business relationships with the 15 MLB franchises that train in Arizona and promoting and fundraising for the league, according to a Cactus League press release.
“Spring training is a key driver in Arizona’s economy and a source of pride for all Arizonans,” Binsbacher said in a statement.
