Arizona Cardinals running back David Johnson left Sunday's game at the Detroit Lions with a wrist injury, the Cardinals announced.

Johnson apparently suffered the injury after a catch and fumble late in the third quarter. An MRI scheduled for Monday will determine whether Johnson will miss a few weeks or "half the season or more," according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen. Mike Florio at ProFootballTalk.com, however, said it has not been determined whether Johnson will miss significant time.

Johnson, who led the NFL in total yards from scrimmage last season, rushed for 28 yards on 11 carries and caught six passes for 68 yards before leaving the game.

It's the second straight regular-season game that Johnson has exited early with an injury. He suffered a knee injury in last year's regular-season finale vs. the Rams.
