Well, that probably wasn't the best decision former Arizona Coyotes forward Antoine Vermette ever made.
Vermette, who had two stints with the Coyotes and now plays for the Anaheim Ducks, is likely facing a suspension after hitting a linesman with his hockey stick in the third period of the Ducks' game at the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night.
Vermette was set to take a faceoff, but instead allowed the opposing skater to win the faceoff. Then, it would seem he quite intentionally slashed the linesman who oversaw the faceoff.
The 34-year-old Quebec native received a game misconduct for abuse of an official.

Vermette played for the Coyotes from 2011-15 before being dealt to the Chicago Blackhawks and winning a Stanley Cup championship in Chicago. He returned to the Coyotes the following season but was released at the end of the 2015-16 season.
