Former Phoenix Suns forward Markieff Morris took to Twitter to approve of the Suns' firing of general manager Ryan McDonough on Monday.

McDonough, who had served as Suns GM since 2013, traded a disgruntled Morris in early 2016. On Monday, after the Suns announced McDonough had been relieved of his duties, Morris reacted on Twitter.

"Bout time lol" is all Morris said.

Morris was selected by the Suns with the 13th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, but his time in the Valley was tumultuous, to say the least. While a member of the Suns, he reportedly threw a towel in the face of then-coach Jeff Hornacek, shoved then-teammate Archie Goodwin, called out Suns fans for a lack of support and demanded a trade from the team.

Last year, he and his twin brother Marcus, who also played for the Suns, were acquitted in their aggravated assault trial stemming from a 2015 incident in Phoenix. Marcus Morris retweeted the news of McDonough's firing Monday.

Markieff Morris currently plays for the Washington Wizards; Marcus plays for the Boston Celtics.
