Junior guard Andre Spight has left the Arizona State Sun Devils' basketball program and will transfer to another school, ASU coach Bobby Hurley announced Tuesday.
Spight, a four-star junior college transfer, averaged 6.6 points in 27 games this season. He averaged 18 points and went 8 of 15 from 3-point range in his last two games, at home vs. UCLA and at Arizona.
Hurley did not elaborate on the reason behind Spight's decision.
Spight committed to ASU when Herb Sendek was the Sun Devils' head coach. Sendek was fired after last season.
The Sun Devils are 14-13 overall and 4-10 in the Pac-12 in Hurley's first season as head coach.
Spight's departure leaves ASU with eight scholarship athletes on its roster. On a positive note, Hurley has already received commitments from a pair of four-star recruits for next season.
