The Northern Arizona Lumberjacks' scheduled football game at Sacramento State on Saturday night has been postponed due to poor air quality as a result of wildfires near the area.

The game was scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Arizona time. The decision to postpone the game came Saturday afternoon.

NAU said options to play the game at a different time and place are being discussed.

Arizona fire crews have been dispatched to California to help fight ongoing wildfires in the state. The fires have been the most destructive in the history of the state in terms of building loss. At least 7,000 homes have already been destroyed.
