For the first time since 2011, the Arizona Diamondbacks are headed to the playoffs.
The D-backs clinched a National League Wild Card playoff berth after the St. Louis Cardinals and Milwaukee Brewers both lost Sunday. That means the D-backs will play a one-game playoff series on Wednesday, Oct. 4, with the winner moving on to a best-of-5 National League Division Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers or Washington Nationals.
Even better: The D-backs went on to beat the Marlins 3-2 on Sunday to secure home-field advantage in that game

The D-backs will face the Rockies, Brewers or Cardinals in the Oct. 4 matchup at Chase Field.
This marks the sixth time in franchise history that the Diamondbacks have advanced to the playoffs. They won division championships in 1999, 2001, 2002, 2007 and 2011, with their only World Series title coming in 2001 vs. the New York Yankees.
