ABC15 Sports team's predictions for Cards-Bears

Posted

The Arizona Cardinals opened the season 1-0 with a 31-19 victory over the New Orleans Saints at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale.

Will the Cards have the same kind of success Sunday when they travel to Chicago to take on the Bears? Our ABC15 sports team provides its predictions.

Tom Zenner:

I don't think I can conceivably go out here and say Jay Cutler's going to win that passing game. He doesn't have enough threats. He doesn't have enough weapons. They're trying to figure things out with a new coach. They're reeling from an opening loss.

I think the Cardinals go in there with some momentum, they do the same thing they did last week against the Saints, stick with their game plan, stay aggressive.

I think every game, John Brown is capable of scoring a touchdown, and now you have threats at the tight end position, and Chris Johnson is capable of breaking a run. Cardinals 24-16.

Shane Dale:

The only thing that concerns me is the Cardinals had so many problems with tight ends last year. The Bears have a decent tight end in Martellus Bennett, so that concerns me a little bit as far as the passing game.

But even without Andre Ellington, I still think the Cards have too much firepower. Eventually, J.J. Nelson is going to break loose for a big TD. Michael Floyd's back. You didn't hear much from him against the Saints. We're probably going to see more of him. Cardinals 35-20.

Jason Snavely:

I've got the Cardinals winning the pass game. I think Matt Forte and the Bears' rushing attack will outweigh the Cardinals with Ellington out.

I just hope that defensive front can put a stop on Forte. I've got 31-17 Cardinals in Soldier Field.
