VIDEO: Former Agua Fria High School star Aaron Altherr makes acrobatic catch for Phillies

Phillies outfielder and former Avondale Agua Fria High School star Aaron Altherr made a fairly remarkable catch Sunday -- even though he made it much more difficult than it needed to be.

Altherr, who's featured in our list of active pro athletes who went to high school in the Valley, used maximum concentration to complete this catch and set up a double play in the seventh inning of the Phillies' 7-1 win over the Mets.

Altherr was committed to play college baseball at The University of Arizona but decided for pro ball instead when the Phillies selected him in the ninth round of the 2009 MLB Draft. He's hitting .282 with 13 home runs for the Phillies this season, his first full year at the MLB level.
