The words "Markieff Morris" and "controversy" often tend to occupy the same sentence -- at least here in Arizona.
The former Phoenix Suns forward got on the bad side of fans throughout his tenure in Phoenix for a number of reasons, both on and off the court. It's one of the reasons he was traded to the Washington Wizards in the middle of last season.
Well, Markieff is doing well for himself in D.C. -- and that includes his game-winning basket at the Portland Trail Blazers with 0.4 seconds left in overtime on Saturday night.

But did you catch what the referees didn't catch in that video? It sure looks like Markieff stepped out of bounds with his left foot before he took the shot, which should have resulted in a turnover.
Here's a better look:

The NBA's post-game officiating report concluded Morris did indeed step out of bounds on that play. Fortunately for Markieff and the Wizards, the refs missed the misstep, and out-of-bounds calls (and non-calls) are not legally reviewable in the NBA. So, Washington won the game to improve to 41-24 on the season, just 2.5 games behind the Cleveland Cavaliers for first place in the Eastern Conference.
