Just five days after he broke up Diamondbacks pitcher Patrick Corbin's bid for a no-hitter, Giants first baseman Brandon Belt had another memorable at-bat.
A record-setting one, in fact.
On Sunday, Belt faced 21 pitches in a single at-bat in the Giants' game at the Los Angeles Angels, breaking the previous modern-day record of 20 set in 1998. The at-bat took 12 minutes and 45 seconds.
On Tuesday, Belt singled with two outs in the eighth inning to break up Corbin's no-hitter in Phoenix. This time, however, Belt failed to get on base, as he lined out on the 21st pitch he faced from Angels pitcher Jaime Barria.
