A soccer player wanted for his alleged role in a kidnapping late last year was arrested during his team's soccer game in Brazil this week.
Sports Illustrated reported via Brazilian publication Gaúcha that 21-year-old Marlon Natanael de Lima Alexandre, who plays for Grêmio Esportivo Sapucaiense in southern Brazil, was arrested while sitting on the bench during his team's game Wednesday. He was reportedly wanted on four arrest warrants, including a kidnapping of an elderly woman at gunpoint in October.
The soccer player reportedly helped kidnap the woman, and he and the alleged co-kidnappers then ran up $1,400 on her credit card. "Police had been unable to locate Lima until learning that he played for the club," Sports Illustrated reported.
