A scary moment occurred in the first inning of Monday's Red Sox-Blue Jays game in Boston on Monday, as umpire Chris Segal took a bat to the unprotected part of his head.
Blue Jays third baseman Josh Donaldson's bat went flying after a pitch in the first inning, and it very audibly hit Segal in the area above his mask. Remarkably, Segal was able to remain in the game after being examined by medical staff.
