Aaron Altherr (Agua Fria High School, Avondale): An outfielder, Altherr originally committed to play college baseball at Arizona but decided to sign with the Philadelphia Phillies, who selected him in the ninth round of the 2009 MLB Draft. Marquis Flowers (Millennium High School, Goodyear): Flowers starred at running back, receiver and safety in high school. He played safety and was later moved to linebacker at the collegiate level for the Arizona Wildcats, and he was the defensive player of the game in UA's New Mexico Bowl victory in 2012.
