Modern technology is playing a bigger role than ever to keep your commute times down, and ADOT is making their system bigger and better.
Over 25 brand new HD cameras line the Loop 202 Red Mountain and SanTan freeways, which just adds to the hundreds of cameras ADOT controls from their Traffic Operations Center.
These cameras are part of ADOT's Freeway Management System, and they're especially useful when there is a crash. "When there is an incident, we are able to use the cameras to zero in on that, and we're able to use the message boards above the freeway to get drivers information," says ADOT spokesman Doug Nintzel.
More cameras will soon launch on I-17 in the Anthem area.
