CHINO VALLEY, AZ — A Chino Valley police officer was airlifted to a Phoenix hospital for treatment after the officer rear-ended another driver Tuesday morning.
According to the Chino Valley Police Department, the crash happened near SR 89 and Center Street in Chino Valley.
Officials say the officer was traveling southbound on SR-89 when traffic slowed and the officer rear-ended a 2007 Jeep Liberty.
The officer was injured and had to be flown to a Deer Valley hospital where they are listed in stable condition.
The driver of the Jeep was treated and released.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Impairment is not a suspected factor, police say.
