PHOENIX — One person is dead after a crash in the West Valley Sunday morning.
Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers say it happened on Loop 101 near Indian School Road in west Phoenix.
ADOT cameras showed a vehicle on its side on the other side of the canal that runs next to the northbound lanes of the freeway.
DPS told ABC15 the vehicle failed to make a curve, went up several different embankments, hit multiple trees, and rolled into a drainage channel.
The driver of the vehicle was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was partially ejected.
Officials identified the driver as 27-year-old Conttrell Curry of Georgia.
No other injuries were reported.
Impairment is believed to have been a factor in the crash.
