YAVAPAI COUNTY, AZ — Two people are dead and three others are hurt after a serious accident on U.S. 93 in Yavapai County.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety says the crash happened Friday just after 1 p.m. near milepost 173, about 25 miles north of Wickenburg.

According to DPS, the passenger in the at-fault vehicle, as well as the driver in the victim vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.
DPS says the driver of the at-fault vehicle, another passenger in that vehicle, and a passenger in the second vehicle were all taken to valley hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries
Investigators believe the at-fault vehicle was attempting to pass a slower-moving commercial vehicle when it the collision occurred.
This stretch of U.S. 93 is known for serious crashes.
The last fatal crash reported was in early November, when three people were killed in a fiery head-on crash on that highway near Congress, about five miles from where Friday's crash took place.
