Several improvement and construction projects will close or restrict Valley freeways this weekend.
The Arizona Department of Transportation recommends drivers plan ahead, consider alternate routes or adjust travel schedules and use caution in work zones while the following restrictions are in place:

Eastbound I-10 closed between I-17 (Stack Interchange) and Washington Street from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 30) for tunnel maintenance. Southbound S.R. 51 and westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) ramps to eastbound I-10 also closed. DETOUR: Please consider alternate routes. Eastbound I-10 traffic will detour to southbound I-17 at the Stack Interchange and reconnect with I-10 near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
Westbound I-10 closed between I-17 (Split Interchange) near Sky Harbor Airport and Seventh Avenue from 9 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 31) for tunnel maintenance. Southbound S.R. 51 and westbound Loop 202 HOV-lane ramps to westbound I-10 also closed. Westbound Sky Harbor Boulevard ramp to westbound I-10 closed. DETOUR: Please consider alternate routes. Westbound I-10 traffic will detour to northbound I-17 at the Split Interchange near Sky Harbor Airport and reconnect with I-10 at the Stack Interchange north of Adams Street.
Southbound Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) ramp to eastbound I-10 in West Valley closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 30) and from 9 p.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 31) for maintenance. DETOUR: Consider alternate routes, including exiting southbound Loop 101 to eastbound Thomas or McDowell roads and using southbound 91st or 83rd avenues to connect with eastbound I-10.
I-10 narrowed to three lanes in both directions near Dysart Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 30) for message-sign foundation work. I-10 also narrowed to four lanes in both directions (HOV lanes closed) near Dysart Road from 5 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 31) for sign-structure construction. DETOUR: Please allow extra travel time and be prepared to slow down and merge safely in work zone.
Northbound I-17 closed temporarily (up to 30 minutes each time) in areas near Deer Valley and Jomax roads in north Phoenix from 11:30 p.m. Saturday to 1:30 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 31) for overhead sign work. DETOUR: Please allow extra travel time and be prepared for slowing or stopped traffic.
Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) off-ramps at Broadway Road narrowed to one lane at times in east Mesa from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 30) for utility work. Broadway Road right lanes closed in both directions at Loop 202. DETOUR: Please allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes.
