Drivers should plan ahead for some restrictions and closures happening on Valley freeways this weekend.

The Arizona Department of Transportation recommends drivers consider alternate routes or adjust travel schedules and use caution in work zones while the following restrictions are in place:

I-10 narrowed to three lanes in both directions near Avondale Boulevard in West Valley from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 6) for sign-structure construction. I-10 also narrowed to four lanes in both directions (HOV lanes closed) near Avondale Boulevard from 5 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday (Feb. 7) for sign-structure construction. DETOUR: Please allow extra travel time and be prepared to slow down and merge safely in work zone.

Eastbound US 60 (Superstition Freeway) ramp to southbound Loop 101 (Price Freeway) in Tempe closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 6) for concrete-barrier repairs. DETOUR: Consider alternate routes, including exiting eastbound US 60 to southbound McClintock Drive and using eastbound Baseline Road to connect with southbound Loop 101.

Southbound State Route 51 (Piestewa Freeway) narrowed to two lanes between Greenway and Cactus roads in northeast Phoenix from 4:30 a.m. to noon Saturday (Feb. 6) for overhead message-sign maintenance. DETOUR: Please use caution and be prepared to slow and merge safely in work zone.
