PHOENIX — Two people are hospitalized from a wrong-way crash in Phoenix Tuesday near Loop 202 and State Route 143.

Just after midnight, Arizona Department of Public Safety troopers were alerted to a head-on crash involving two vehicles.

During an investigation, DPS learned a driver was going the wrong way, northbound in the southbound lanes, on SR-143 when they hit another driver who was traveling southbound.

Officials say there was only one person, the driver, in each vehicle.

The wrong-way driver, a 60-year-old woman, was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, while the victim, a 29-year-old man, was transported for life-threatening injuries.

The wrong-way driver will be arrested once she's released from the hospital on charges of aggravated DUI, aggravated assault, and more, according to DPS officials.

No other details have been released.
