PHOENIX — Get ready for the hottest days of 2020 in Arizona!

With temperatures reaching record and dangerous levels starting Friday, the ABC15 Forecasters have issued ABC15 Weather Action Days to give you a heads up to the incoming excessive heat.

Daytime highs will range anywhere from 112º-118º during this stretch, meaning that sunburn, dehydration, and heat-related illnesses can impact the human body in a matter of minutes! Be sure to stay hydrated, try to avoid outdoor activities during the hottest time of the day, and wear light-colored, loose-fitting clothing.

Sunday appears to be the hottest day of this stretch with an expected high of 117. It would break the record of 115 set back in 2009 and be the hottest temperature in Phoenix since July 25th, 2018.

In a given year, the Valley averages 19 days of 110-degree heat or higher. So far this year, we have seen 14 days of 110º, meaning that it’ll be just a few more days of 110º+ temperatures before we pass that yearly average.
