PHOENIX — It's a nice start to the week across Arizona.

Cooler air is settling in behind our weekend storm, which is keeping temperatures several degrees below normal for this time of year.

Gusty winds will persist along the Colorado River Valley with Wind Advisories in effect through this evening. Peak gusts could potentially reach 50 mph in Mohave County.

Winds will back off all across Arizona on Election Day as our forecast stays mostly sunny and dry.

Expect a chilly start to the day when the polls open at 6 a.m., though.

Temperatures will be freezing in the high country as overnight lows drop into the 20s and 30s around 6 to 7 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Here in the Valley, we'll wake up to temperatures in the mid 40s to low 50s before climbing into the mid 70s in the afternoon.

On Wednesday, another storm system pushes in from the north. Winds will pick up and we'll see chances for rain and snow across the high country.

Our Valley forecast now looks to stay dry, but it will get breezy on Wednesday and Thursday with gusts near 25 mph.

Across northern Arizona, snowfall amounts will range from nearly an inch in Flagstaff to perhaps four to six inches in Window Rock by Thursday evening.

Stay tuned for updates as the storm approaches.
