PHOENIX — High pressure is building in and sending temperatures soaring!
Phoenix hit the 80s for the first time this year Monday afternoon and we have more 80-degree days ahead.
Look for a high of 81 degrees in Phoenix on Tuesday, which is just one degree shy of the record set in 2018.
We'll likely hit 81 degrees again on Wednesday, but that day's record is much higher at 86 degrees.
Then, major changes hit as another winter storm moves in.
Temperatures will drop into the low 60s by the end of the week and breezes will pick up Thursday and Friday as the storm moves in.
We'll also see quite a bit of rain and snow across Arizona beginning Thursday afternoon and continuing through the day on Friday.
Due to the impacts to outdoor activities and travel across Arizona, Thursday and Friday will be ABC15 Weather Action Days. Take action now to get ready for this storm.
Early estimates show the potential of a half an inch to an inch of rain in parts of the Valley and three to six inches of snow in Flagstaff. We'll keep you posted as we get closer.
Our weather pattern will stay active through mid-February with a few more storms on the way. That could keep rain chances in the forecast for the Phoenix Open this year. More details to come on that next week.
