Storms bring snow up north, record rain in Valley

Overnight storms dropped measurable snow in Northern Arizona and brought record rainfall to the Valley.

According to the National Weather Service in Flagstaff, several spots up north saw measurable snowfall. Bellemont registered an inch, Williams saw 2 inches and Snowbowl Estates got 4.5 inches. Arizona Snowbowl reported 6 inches, and they expect 15 inches through Monday.

The ski facility doesn't open for another 40 days.

Early Sunday morning, there was a report of white-out conditions on Interstate 17 near Flagstaff. Drivers are being asked to take it slow today.

In the Valley, showers and thunderstorms dropped .41 inches of rain in the early morning hours, a new daily rainfall record. Several flood advisories have been issued.

This is now the third wettest October on record in Phoenix. 

Sunday afternoon also brought some rain and even hail, mostly to the west Valley.
