If you’ve ever owned a dog — or even if you have simply watched one in the car next to you while stopped at a red light — you know how much pups love car rides … and poking their heads out car windows.
Personally, I don’t even like the window rolled down a little bit, but every dog I’ve ever known would do just about anything for that fresh breeze in their face. While it’s obviously adorable, it can be unsafe, especially for their eyes.
A happy German Shepherd Mix breed dog is hanging is tounge out of his mouth with his ears blowing in the wind as he sticks his head out a moving and drving car window.
So, to help out our four-legged friends, there’s a fairly new accessory on the market — dog goggles! The goggles are made specifically to keep dogs’ eyes safe when they’re leaning out the car window and, I have to say, they’re pretty darn stylish, too.
Autotrader is giving away its version of this handy accessory for free to a limited number of car-loving pups. For your chance to win the limited-edition dog goggles, just head to Dogtrader now through Sept. 12.
Once on the site, enter the contest and you have a chance to win! With every pair given away, Autotrader will donate funds to Adopt-a-Pet, Autotrader’s partner for Dogtrader. You can use the site to search for a dog to adopt or find resources to help if you have to re-home your pet.

If you don’t win the dog goggles (or even if you do!), your dog is obviously still a good boy or girl who definitely deserves more accessories.
For when the weather is a bit yucky, your pal might enjoy some dog boots or an umbrella. And for when your pooch isn’t riding shotgun, check out this pet sling you can use to carry them wherever you go!
Does your furry friend enjoy car rides with the windows down?
